Want To Move Here But Must Check Out Several Provinces First

I want to investigate seriously moving to Panama. Both myself and also my mother and her husband in their own place. Before I can select a location we like, we must travel around and try different provinces. What we would like to do is go for two months and stay two weeks in four different areas. The problems:

1. How to find someone who can arrange that at a reasonable price. (3Bed Rooms $50 per night)
2. How to prearrange places to stay so Mom isn't left wandering the streets with her adventurous son?
3. So far, the only thing I can determine is that it is better to travel via the bus/taxi system.
4. If it is not possible to do four places at 2 weeks each reasonably, would two places at one month each work and still allow us to see enough of Panama?
5. When i ask folks about an honest realtor or lawyer everyone laughs?

Any suggestions?

I would recommend getting a car unless you are just interested in the Panama City area. You can find some places to rent on Craig's List.

You should investigate something like Boquete, David, Panama City, Coronado, Bocas del Toro and Pedasi to get an idea of different areas.
