Dating people who speak different language

Have you ever gone out on a date with somo one who doesn't speak the same language as you. Maybe they know how to speak your language, but they do not speak it regularly.

I have never dated anyone who doesn't speak my language. When I was a kid, I had a few friends that spoke different languages. I really don't remember how we could hang out without being able to talk ever.

i dated a girl who didn't speak english properly but we got on fine... it wasn't smooth but you end up being a little more forgiving and a lot more patient

Mate, eyes . Eyes speaks more than anything else. And the result can be either i teach her my language or either I learns hers .

i haven't date anyone who speaks a different language but its worth the try sometimes liking and love for each other transends all barriers,many things are understood without uttering a word thats the expression power ,if i meet someone who is wonderful and don't speak my language i'll learn her language and maybe she can learn mine too.

Yes folks, I've done it many times and have countless friends and acquaintances around the world who have and some of whom have made great marriages, (even some who learned the other language after the marriage!). We've all met people who speak our language...but don't speak our language, if you know what I mean? When a girl likes you, she likes you, and she'll try and so will you. My friend and his wife started with sign language. Other Canadian acquaintances of mine spend sometimes an entire week with a girl when neither speaks a thing and they're laughing themselves sick having so much fun. On the other hand, remember that myself and all the aforementioned had to make the effort (and vice verce of course) to learn the loved one's language. It shows respect for that persons country and that you really care.

Yes, I have dated one person who spoke a different language. She happens to be from Panama. She now speaks very good English and without any kind of accent, if you can believe that. Also she is now my wife of 18 years this coming June 30th.

I do consider myself a lucky man. But I don't know if it would have happened if I didn't get stationed in Panama during the Just Cause War in 1989. Matthew, if you want it bad enough it can happen for you to. Take Care.

I tried dating with someone who speaks different language. It was a challenging. I always see to it that I speak slowly so he can grasp everything that I said and he can get what I meant. It went nice though

I have this rule: Never let words get in the way of perfect communication. While vacationing in Toronto, I met and dated this Russian girl. We could barely understand each other, but the chemistry between us did all the comunication we would ever need. We said very little to each other while sharing the most comfortable silence I ever shared with anyone on a first and (as it turned out to be) only date. It was a one-night stand. My flight was booked for the following morning. I'll never know if this would've lasted over the long haul, but for six hours, it was pure magic!

I know some people who dated others who didn't speak their native tongue too well and it managed to work somewhat well, although some of them broke up but not due to language issues apparently.

I really haven't faced this issue, but I do have some friends that don't have a full grasp of the English language and thus sometimes it's not perfect. But as long as we can communicate efficiently and have fun, a grammatical mistake here and there is not a big issue at all.

Yes.. I tried it for few times already and i can say its not really uncomfortable to talk with a date that talks like a robot

Yes she can speak abit on my language but not fluently..

I had this situation a few times, and though it can result some funny situations, most times it was rather annoying ( I think for both of us) then fun. I think at least a bit understanding, a language to communicate is essential. English is not my first language, so, I know it can be difficult. But without a basic understanding, I dont feel to start dating with someone...if not for a very short time
