What type of things do you like to do when you take someone out on a date? It can be hard if you do not know the person well, because there is a lot of pressure to do something fun.

I think it depends on who you and your date are, and what interests the two of you have. You simply want to find a shared interest and do something based on that. A young tourist couple would prefer different activities than an elderly local couple.

3. Eat something sweets like ice cream
4. Watch Movie..

Walking as far as you can with her? Do you mean just taking a long walk? What do you do if you get tired of walking before you get home?

Mr. Woohoo is trying to explain, especially from an American point of view (and I'm not speaking for all Americans--just a lot of us,) that free activities such as walking around a garden are just not going to produce the type of good date that spending $20 would. From his point of view, spending $20 produces a better date than no money.

As for myself, quite honestly, if a guy took me on a first date and wanted to:
a) Take a walk around a flower garden, holding hands
b) Eat ice cream (even if it was 100F or 32C out)
and then c)Wanted to see a movie...

I would first wonder if he was perhaps, 75 years old, stuck in the 1950's, or
someone who rode the short bus for years...but I digress...

I can't imagine anyone other than a Mormon teenager actually enjoying these activities for a first date; try a concert--or the theatre, even a band in a local pub (if you are sure that they are good) would be far more entertaining than just walking around.

Those are all date activities that you have time for later in the relationship, and I don't know too many women who would be impressed by a long walk followed by ice cream--those are things that we did as kids.

Gentlemen, up your game a little bit, spend a few bucks, do something entertaining that isn't self-propelled! As for Panamanian women, well, they tend to have lower expectations, so that whole 'let's go for ice cream!' bit might actually work!

I would rather do it differently. Will spend couples of minutes in conversing with her about weird stuff in order to know how she thinks (her attitude). If she stands, take her for lunch/dinner (depends on the time) to a swank restaurant to actually check her out. If everything go well, then will go for long drives, movies etc etc.

Nopes MRWOOHOO, I have dated many across the globe as my job is such, travelling all across. May be, i didn't expressed well the idea above but Do you really think, one should read books for learning how to date..lol.

I think one needs to be confident on a date thats it, good looking is another attribute if is.

well on my date i try to remove the shy bits between the girl i am going out with and myself,like on one ocassion i had a date with a girl who used to study in a different college than mine,so i started telling her about my college life and she told me about her .we chatted about why we chose those subjects in college and eventually on some points we had the same views,actually when you are with a girl for the first times,take the time by becoming a good friend of her,its like a step by step brick by brick process and yes one thing more most girls love to hear words of praise but say them such that it doesn't look as if you are doing flattery.

If I am on a first date, I prefer to be on a dinner where you can talk and get to know each other more. For me, first date will determine if I like to date that person again
