Salsa Dancing for Mature Folks. Suggestions?

    Hello All,

This is my first post and I will probably be around for a while. I am in the process of discovering the 'Panamanian' in me and possibly relocating to Panama soon. I do not speak Spanish and can not dance salsa but still try to do both nonetheless.

I will be in Panama City next weekend (8-9 Aug 08)and am interested in finding a nice place to go dancing. If its close to a good seafood restaurant that will be a plus!

The uniqueness of my situation is that I am cool 40yo who prefers to be in a place with people close to or around my age. Everything is male oriented <---I'm used to it by now. However, if anyone can throw some suggestions out there for a single female, I will appreciate it!

    Kindest Regards,
    AP

First off if you are only in your forties you are not old enough to refer to yourself as "Mature" I just turned forty and last thing I want to be is "Mature", Lol. When you move to Panama you shave off 10 years automatically. There are allot of places to go dancing in Panama. A good place to start the evening is in El Cangrejo, specifically Via Argentina, many bars, clubs, YOUNG people in their 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's (it's the mindset). The really happening and partying area is Calle Uruguay. Lots of salsa, techno, dancing, etc. If you wish I belong to an international social networking group that has very good people that you can trust locally. If you are interested let me know and I can give you the url if interested? There are ALLOT of really good and decent people moving here from all over the world. All you have to do is smile and say hello and you will have more friends than you know what to do with.

    Salude

How was your experience, did you find your dancing club? Where did you stay and how was it?
I am going in 2 weeks for the first time.
    Cool forum!

    Hi Doc,

I had a wonderful time in PC! So much so I recently visited again. The first time I stayed in the El Parador Hotel in the Cangrejo area. From my understanding, they recently increased their prices. I danced to salsa in clubs located on Via Uruguay. There are many to choose from. I also checked out a casino/club (I can't remember the name right now) located next to the El Panama Hotel also in the Cangrejo area.

You will enjoy the nightlife in PC.

    Kindest Regards,
    AP

    That's great to hear.

I'm not much of a night life person, but I'll keep the things mentioned in mind. It's good to see positive reviews like this before shelling out money for the flight ticket over there.

Same here, I'm not a party animal or hang out much at night.
Salsa is a great dance, and its know to boost ones health & fertility!
