As for expats living on Panama, I'd say gym, malls, concerts, library, and of course in hotels and restaurants.

I think there are speed dating services in Panama (as well as many other countries). Speed dating is where a bunch of singles rotate through each other, and each man and each woman get to meet each other for 10 minutes.

I found Panama Speed Dating but it seems the only thing related to Panama is the name. They appear to be in Miami. Personally, I would be surprised if the concept of speed dating were known in Panama.

I do not know if there is speed dating in Panama or not, but if there is it would probably be in Spanish, not English. So, that might be why it isn't easy to find on Google (at least the English version).

Depends on what you mean by "get"!

If it's for marriage, I just read an article this weekend that a large percentage of people (around 50%) will marry for money alone and ignore other factors such as looks and personality completely. The necessary amount depends on age and gender but it's generally between $1 and $2 million. I'm sure that is true for Panama as well, and the required amount would certainly be much lower, probably a fifth. That means if you have around $300k you could get just about any girl that is in it for the money.

If it's just for fun, that's a lot easier and you don't need a lot of cash. I'd just recommend that you don't dress like the average tourist: No flip flops, shorts, t-shirts with ridiculous messages on them, and so on.

If you are a single man and you are moving to Panama, dont worry about getting a girlfriend. More than likely she will hunt you down. Do not start flashing money around the women down there or all you will wind up with is a hooker.

You don't need to worry about that. Once you get to Panama, your visitor look will automatically drive them to you...... lol

ok, the lessons learnt so far are to dress like a local, never flaunt your money and be aware that you girls might come after you so prepare a good exit strategy

When we went on R&R to Bangkok out of 'Nam, those semi-transparent nylon shirts were in fashion. We would stuff a few pink Bt 100 notes in our shirt pocket and say, "Put your personality in your pocket."

And .. yep .. it worked. 'Course I was 25, lean, mean and handsome then.

The malls are a great place, especially Albrook and Multiplaza.

I've also met some beautiful women walking around Casco Viejo and Calle Uruguay is never a bad spot either. Just know that the women will have their guard up on Hell st.
