Do you go on dates when just traveling through?

If I am just visiting a place, I don't really like meeting new people because I know I will have to leave them quickly. You can't build a relationship if you are only going to be in the area for a week or two.

Oh don't be silly! You can absolutely make tons of new friends. You probably won't meet the love of your life (but you might!) but you will make friends from all corners of the globe.
I just can't imagine going that far out of my way to travel to a foreign country and then purposefully try NOT to meet ppl merely because I'm only going to be there for a few weeks. I've made lots of pen-pals, like sports fans and music fans, that I keep in touch with over the years. Maybe we meet up in a 3rd party country (i.e. not one of our own) and hang out, or go on further adventures.

As for not dating...why? If you meet someone who interests you, why not? A few weeks of fun and mutual enjoyment is preferable to a vacation where you're just being a tourist, right? You'll get an insight into a culture that is not your own; you will go to places far off the tourist track (if you are lucky) and learn a lot, all the while having an excellent time.

Cheers.

I agree with Lalaguayaba. Plus, if you meet someone you really like, maybe you will stay longer to get to know them (or come back). I've heard stories of people meeting their future wife on a short vacation.

Yeah, I do. What else one would do while travelling ?? Enjoying , making new friends, so whats wrong there in going for a date while on a tour. This is the actual time, one can come across new people , can find a partner . I will never miss such a chance..
