"Few cities in Latin America can match the diversity, cosmopolitanism and sheer energy of Panama City..." - THE ROUGH GUIDE
Wow! Cool graphics and great shots of the city.
I have a nagging feeling this development won't happen. Yes, modern warehouse and distribution buildings adjacent an airport are a no-brainer in most areas, and I think some need exists for low to medium rise office space, but I'm not sure to this extent any time soon. The residential prospects would be dependent on development of office space, so it's even more doubtful to me. I wouldn't want to live next to an airport. Also, they're competing with Panama Pacifico, which has a nice lead, more space, and several nice anchor tenants already. It might go the way of PIMM (Panama International Merchandise Mart). Remember that?
Plus the name sounds like something out of Disney's 1960s view of the future in "Tomorrow Land."
It never has to be built, only hyped and marketed properly. Once enough investment dollars are secured the project can be scrapped and the investors will take a bath. Then the promoters can sail off into the Panama sunset with their new yachts!!
Thats because you are an honest and ethical businessman. Following through on an agreement even if it costs you money is the hallmark of integrity. When you have high business ethics it is easy to fall into the trap of assuming other business people also hold the same level of conviction. This is how high value investors get duped. I have done business with a handshake most of my life but even a written contract is not what it used to be.
Personally, I'd like to see them use all that breathless energy to address the 800lb. gorilla in the corner of the room:
Colón - The epitome of urban decay

Panama is definitely a country of contradictions. Apparently the billions being made in the CFZ aren't exactly being plowed back into the community. Thanks for posting.
not really part of this blog but very interesting , Transparency International - the global coalition against corruption
No surprise that Panama is marginally more corrupt than Cuba. Let's remind ourselves what the US Ambassador's first impressions of the Martinelli administration were:
Cable reference id: #09PANAMA549
I like this bit:
"and the Minster of Government and Justice." Mulino is reportedly not one of Martinelli's favorites. Arjona described him as "arrogant, corrupt and stupid." Arjona said that Mulino conned a Canadian businessman out of $600,000 six months ago by offering to sell him a piece of beach front property, but actually selling him the piece of land behind it."
Looks like an ideal spot for the Central Campus of Colombian Hookers College
Looks like another Hong Kong or Singapore is in the making.
Creepy video. I'd never want to live near an airport, nor work near one, nor shop near one.
