Hi! I'm coming to Panama probably around March - April, and was wondering what kind of paperwork I will need to stay that long, if any...I'll probably be flying into San Jose, Costa Rica then taking a bus or something into Panama...this way seems to be alot cheaper than flying straight into Panama City. My citizenship is U.S.

I just came to Boquete via Mexico City on Mexacana in December. The airline cashier sold me my tourista visa - $20. According to recent posts the 90 day Visa which was cut back to 30 Days is now 30 days with a virtually automatic extension to 90.
I also understood from various sites that they would not let you into Panama unless you showed proof you were leaving. This cost me a $272 airline ticket to Costa Rica, but they never even looked at it at Customs. If you're coming by bus I would suggest you get a return ticket just in case and I believe it's pretty cheap.
The other big difference is that once you leave Costa Rica you are only minutes from David, which is then about a forty-five minute taxi to Boquete. I flew into PC and faced an overnight 7 hour bus ride to David. Your way sounds better.

Yes, and yes, although I've been told that the tourist visa that cost me $20 at Mexcicana Airlines in Mexico City should have only been $5, but this might only be for Americans. I believe you can buy this at the border when you buy your return ticket.
As for Boquete, I can not possibly answer you in detail here. Yes, it is everything I expected. We are in the midst of the Flower and Coffee festival, which is the largest festival in Panama. It's great as long as you don't plan on sleeping.
Hey ChecMark, how is that festival? I heard about it on my first trip to Boquete and I understand it is quite the party. Any details would be appreciated. Have you heard about the barfights the local Indians have and that they can loose a wife if beaten? No Kidding.
"Quite the party" is right! Boquete swells by an estimated 10,000 people a day during the. Lots of food, beer (50 cents), vendors for everything, the amazing flowers, of course, and the XZone Disco. I went to the Disco the first night of the festival and it was quite an experience. The place was packed and there were two DJs playing awesome musica. Dancers from Costa Rica. Pyrothechs, fog machine, and good prices on rum. Had a ball! Went 'til 3:00 o'clock in the morning. Hard to believe they'll keep this up for ten days.
Awesome, I will be there next year for sure. Thanks for the info, it is good to know that us kids ("or kids at heart") can find a good party in this part of Panama. When I first checked out the area I thought it was like St.Peter's sitting room (kinda like Florida). No offense intended to our more "mature" viewing audience (lol).
