Is it easy to catch a Taxi in Panama and are there any Taxis when you get to the airport?

Personal suggestion is to have somebody already pick you up from the airport.

Why not use a Taxi are they not trusted? The problem is that i don't really have anyone to pick me up at Panama, what i was planning to do is go there for a holiday and rent a house.

If you feel comfortable and your Spanish is good enough then you will be fine. Just remember we are coming into carnival season so hotels and hostels are liable to be full.

it is an asset to have good spanish skills,it is not a necessity but you won't have to look at the english to spanish dictionary at times when you will visit panama.

Taxis are abundantly available in Panama. Each Taxi has a number painted on them which may be used to register any complains (if any). Taxis may be hailed in the street, from a Taxi stand or reserved by telephone. Fares are determined by zones in Panama City, rather than meters. Drivers must have a zone chart with them at all times. As most cabs are not metered, it is better to settle the fair before embarking.

I don't think Mr.Woohoo meant that you should have a friend pick you up (although that would be great!) but that you should have a car service pick you up at the airport. We use Rene Guardiola every time. That way you just look for your name on the sign that the driver is carrying, and you're on your way.

Taxis are trustworthy, and not a problem to find.

But, if you are renting a house, by having a driver for several hours or the day, you can get picked up from the airport, go to the house rental agency/landlord, then do some grocery shopping, or run other errands etc. all for one previously negotiated fee.

. I have another question can most Taxi's in Panama City, Panama speak English? Because i can't really speak Spanish.

If you have a destination they will recognize such as a popular hotel or landmark then no problem. Some may speak English.
