Thread: dog to panama (and back)

Any tips on flying a dog to Panama? She's big enough to have to go in the cargo hold. We'll have the paperwork covered on the U.S. end -- wondering about driving to Florida or wherever, then just doing one jump to Panama City as less stressful than having to change planes. Also if/when we fly her back I understand there will be vet certificate needed from Panama vet. Are the services that ship a pet for you worth it? Any tips? Thanks.

We brought two dogs to Panama from Belize and used Pet Relocation Service here in Panama. You can Google them. They were wonderful and handled everything. Since our Spanish is limited and we'd never heard of half the necessary forms, it was great to have them to do everything.

Taking a dog into the States is a breeze!!! All you need is the shot record and a health certificate signed by a vet that was obtained within 7 days of flying. I brought dogs back and forth from Belize to the States for 11 years and it was very easy!
