Thread: Flat at Bocas Del Toro

Hi everyone, I have a question about flats in Bocas Del Toro, I want to go to Bocas on 20th of September and I'm going to stay there until December, so my question is are where any cheap flats to rent, because I'm going by my self so I dont need a Condo with Ocean view etc. I just want a simple flat with water maybe A/C and Intrernet. And all the places are offering me Vacation Houses starting with 1200 a month (cheapest) I'm looking for something around 500 a month (I remember then I was in Bocas in April 2011 i saw a lot of advertisement as low as 350 a month) plus it is off season.

Thank you in advance, maybe someone can offer me a good site, or even better someone knows people in Bocas who are dealing with non-vocational flats.

also, once you get there have a look at places like Lili's Cafe for posts on the wall about flats. Just plan on staying at one of the better hostels for a week to get your self oriented. Good review at TripAdvisor.com. Lulu's is upscale froma hostel at $50 per night with breakfast.

Hey Dima, I'm in the same situation. I'm planning on heading down to Bocas del Toro in the end of Sept, but staying till around June 2012. Please let me know if you find any good sites that I could check out.
And Gary, I tried looking for "Bocas Breeze" online, but it really didn't have anything listed other than one main story about a snake eating a monkey. As interesting as that was, it didn't really help me with the apartment search. Did I look at the right site?

The occupancy rates are low there and the listed prices mean nothing. Send out emails to the ones you are interested in and start negotiating. Most of these places will be empty for the low season. There are also lots of unadvertised apts that are posted on the bullitin board at the "super gourmet" market. You should be able to find a place to suit your needs and budget, I did!!

I stayed here a couple of years ago, not bad, good location and nice views, the owner was open to negotiation.

just remember , you have the money , you are in the drivers seat . nothing much is selling in panama , do not be in a hurry to lay your loot down . . i moved to panama 4 yrs ago and there is still stuff i looked at then for sale . if you can , buy gold and wait and decide on the right land at the right price .

Lauretta Bonfiglio is the owner of Bistro Restaurant in Boquete, a Gringo and former Aspen, CO restaurant operator as well. I would consider her highly reliable.
