    High season without a reservation

    Hi folks,

The wife and I are going to Panama in mid March for a couple of weeks. We usually travel to Latin America in the low season and play it by ear when it comes to lodging and stay in smaller family run cabanas or hotels instead of making reservations. We have found some very nice little places this way. From experience we know that most small places dont have websites.

We have a reservation the first night in Panama City and plan to drive towards David and back over eight days, then spend the last few days in Panama city before heading home.

I have looked at several hotels in areas we want to see, and the better known ones are filled up for the dates we want to go or are too expensive. How easy/hard is it to find a room without reservations in smaller cabanas or hotels in late high season?

    Thanks

We have decided not to worry about reservations out in the countryside. Judging by past experience in Central America, there are lots and lots of little cabanas and family run hotels that are not to be found on the internet. We will play it by ear. Thanks.
