    Taboga Island

Hi! We will be in Panama for the second time this year, in September. I am taking my mom this time, (my husband and I plan on retiring there), and my mom will be moving with us.

Anyways - we would like to take a day trip to Taboga Island, however, I cannot find any info on transportation on the island. We are interested in renting a golf cart for the day. My mom is 80, and cant really spend the whole day walking.

Does anyone have any info on this? I would appreciate it!

    Vicki

See Isla Taboga the Island of Flowers
There's a link to ferry info under "Getting There."
I've never seen golf carts -- or any other kind of vehicle -- for rent on Taboga.

Taboga Island is a must see for any visitor to Panama City.

Taboga Island is a must see for any visitor to Panama City. Taboga has lots of charms worth enjoying. Two beaches surrounded by lush flora are available to the public. Just walking the island is a delight for the senses and a fascinating trip through history. Toboga features some of the best dining in Panama and you can also find a satisfying mix of hotel accommodations. You can get to Taboga by a ferry that departs from facilities just off of the Amador Causeway near the Mi Ranchito Restaurant.

Um, are you just passing on bad info so that you can slip in your weblink?
"Best dining in Panama"? No way. I love Taboga, but your post sounds like a cut-and-paste from a tourist brochure.

My family and I just visited Panama last month. A group decided to take the ferry from the amador causway and they outright hated it. They said there were no buildings with airconditioning, the beaches were covered in trash, and the one hotel they knew from when they lived in Panama before was demolished. I would not recommend especially since you have someone who can not walk well.
