    Best and Worst

In General, where is the worst and best part of Panama City, and how are those sections of the city the worst &amp; best? <br>

    Panama

I'm going to Panama for the first time, on May 2, and I'd like to know the same. Can you walk safely down Central to Casco Viejo? Same with the length of Balboa?

In the daytime, yes. Just don't wear your Rolex, plaid shorts, fanny-pack, and have a fancy camera hanging off your neck. And in crowded areas (like the market area along Central), keep your hand on your wallet. At night, I'd avoid Central, and Balboa west of the highway overpass. Casco Viejo is OK as long as you stay in the populated areas -- but best to take a taxi to and from after sunset.

wallet always in your front pocket. Even if yo're blond haired, try to fit in, somehow, with the people around you. Previous advice given is on the mark; dont "Americanize" yourself.

Just back from Panama City, and this advice was on the mark. We walked alot, and never had a problem, even in the marginal areas at night.

    Teatro Nacional

Panama City is the political and administrative center of the country. Well I am not aware of the worst part of the city but one of the best place in the city is the Teatro Nacional, a recently renovated performance center, with outstanding natural acoustics; It provides an intimate performance environment and seating for about 800 guests.

I have to say I find this unusual, you are unaware of the worst part of Panama City, you work for CPanama, but you are aware the best place is Teatro Nacional and you are able to give the exact stats and comment on the natural acoustics? Just an observation. Just curious, how long have you been living in Panama City?
