Thumbs up Health food stores

Hi!

I'm also looking for health food stores. I didn't really find any so far.

Regards.

Same here... really difficult to find. The Rey supermarket has some semi-healthy stuff, and most pharmacies stock supplements of many different kinds. I'm not aware of any health food stores per se like you would see them in the US.

There are several GNC stores, one of them in the Multicentro Plaza.

Hi Laura! Pan is right, you can find no-sugar, or no-salt products like bread, marmelade, nuts, etc. in Supermacado Rey. Unfortunately, there are no "real" health food stores in Panama that I know of. What I do and what is really a good way to get anything and everything you want from the US is to open a "Mail Boxes Etc." account and it only takes 3 to 5 days to arrive in Panama.

Cheers,

Michael

Thank you for your replies!

I'll check out the "healthy food" section at Rey Supermarket today. I also found a fruit shop at Plaza Pearl Harbor (spelling?) it's in Paitilla, across from Multicentro Plaza. They have all different kinds of fruit, from fresh blueberries, to Chinese cucumbers, and nuts and fresh coconut water and miso, to any Asian food you could imagine. It's a must to check out for any health food lover in Panama City!

Is there any online health stores that ship in (or to) Panama? I like buying from online. For health foods you can find good deals.

Hello guys!

I've been to Organica many times now and I can safely say it's the best health food store! It offers vegan and sugar free options on ice cream, yogurt, puddings, and milks and they have about anything else you could want too, from fresh organic eggs, produce, to cookies, cereal, vitamins, health food books, chocolate, potato chips, etc. Even eco friendly cleaning spray, laundry powder and beauty products. They also recently opened a small organic restaurant.

There is also a supermarket Riba Smith (spelling?) that sells vegan -cheese, -sausages, -meats, -burgers, -Indian food and they have the most bountiful fruit and veggie section. They also sell some English books and magazines.

I can now say that I don't miss anything from home. Panama has everything my heart/stomach desires!
