Bus from airport to Panama City?

I haven't found info yet on regular buses leaving the Panama international airport for downtown. We arrive at 8:00 pm, but if could bus in and get to a central bus location, could then taxi to our hotel. Seems to be 25 or 35 bucks to transfer airport to hotel otherwise. I read bad reviews of Mariposal Hotel; cheap, but offers taxi for ten bucks, if not mistaken.

Thank you in advance o anyone who replies!

There's supposed to be some bus that one can walk out of the airport about 100-200 meters & catch into the city.

But if one is landing in a new city for the first time, it's dark and you're unfamiliar with everything, it's best not to be fumbling around with luggage and taking a bus just to save a few bucks, IMO.

There are uniformed employees that'll guide you to the taxi line. Use this vs the jokers who approach you as soon as you exit out of customs. Some of these guys will quote you outrageous amounts. I was just in Panama City a month ago and one of these jokers quoted me $60 to get into town.

A cab into town should be $25 + tolls. Tolls on Corredor Sur are $2.65, so $27 or $28 is a fair deal.

Be aware that if someone other than the driver helps you with luggage, they are not doing it to be helpful. They will stick their hand out for a tip. My recommendation is just to politely decline. You lugged it that far. A few more metres won't kill you.

Some of these guys (airport employees or not) will ask outrageous amounts also for helping with luggage. They prey upon the naivete of new people.

The uniformed airport employee who led me to the taxi line & helped with my bag asked for $19!!! Had I not asked a few pressing questions and assumed things (like this was a pre-pay of a portion of a fare in) I might have been schnookered. I bet they trick some confused tourists.

Can't speak to the hotel you mention, but a lot of others have airport shuttles, if that's one of your concerns.
