    Snow?

today... first snow flakes fell down from the sky where i live. i think it's snowing for like 4 hours. not too much, and the weather is pretty cold here. Did it ever snow in Panama?

It never snows where ppl live in Panama ever--it is just too hot and humid all the time. There have been small recorded snows at the top of Volcan Baru, Volcán Barú - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia , and there are frequent frosts on the top during the dry season. That's more a function of its altitude than anything else, at almost 3500 meters (11,400 ft) anything is darn near frozen.

It is just starting to chill down at night in D.C., the leaves are falling, and its definitely cold at night, but still in the 60-70°F during the day.

    Cheers.

that sounds like a dream for me... lately i've begun to dislike winter and cold weather in general... i want everyday to be a sunny day and nowadays i've had below 0°C [don't know what's that in F]

32°F. Celsius and Fahrenheit scales overlap at -40° and that's it. The major points that are relatively easy to remember are 0°C=32°F, 100°=212°F. The easy approximation I was taught to understand weather forecasts, since it really only works for temps where humans are comfortable: to get C degrees from F is: Divide by 2 and subtract 30; so it works the other way as well, multiply by 2 and add 30. That would've given you 30°F, which is close, if not exact.

The technical method for conversion C° to F°: multiply by (9/5) and add 32, so you end up with big numbers that aren't easy to do in your head--it will give you all the exact temperatures though. I remember being taught all that in school, since the rest of the planet seems to run on °C and metrics, I was glad to learn it as a kid!

As far as winter goes, I totally agree. I had to cancel my plans to be in San Diego this time of year due to the fires in the area; our house is still standing, but its covered in ash, and will take some time to clean--so I won't go out until Xmas. My plans for Panama are mid-January, and if I time it correctly, I should miss any snow this season!! Yeah!!

    Cheers.

oh well, i'm soo bad at maths. i'm thinking to spend my xmas holidays in Greece or Cyprus, because i'm soo tired of snow. it's not too expensive either, but i have to do some research before.

If you can multiply or divide by 2 and add or subtract by 30, then you're in business w/C° to F° conversion. Its easy!!

I'm not sure if I could easily decide between Greece and Cyprus...tell me what you find out! It sounds like a lot of fun~

    Cheers.
