Ruben Blades, the salsa singer turned actor and politician, has sold his Los Angeles home for a reported $2.4 million.

The Los Angeles Times said Blades’ English country-style home features five bedrooms, 4A bathrooms, dark hardwood floors and a vinecovered porch with a barbecue/fire pit.

Blades, 61, burst onto the mainstream U.S. music scene in the 1980s as a salsa singer. He later focused on acting, often playing in Latin-themed movies such as 1988’s ‘‘Milagro Beanfield War.’’ Later, Blades entered politics in his native Panama, running unsuccessfully for president before becoming the nation’s tourism minister.
