Martinelli Expands Lead in Polls to 16%

According to this week's polling results, as reported by TVN 2 Noticias and as taken by the company Ditcher & Neira, when asked the question "If the elections of 2009 were held today, for whom would you vote for the position of President of the Republic?" - 51% responded that they would vote for Ricardo Martinelli. This reflects an increase of 2% over last week's result. 35% said they would vote for Balbina Herrera, down 2% from last week. Martinelli is now leading Balbina Herrera by 16% in the polls. Guillermo Endara held fast with only 4% of the voters saying they intend to vote for him. The remaining 10% were either null or blank votes.

It's all over for Balbina Herrera. I hope he will be able to find a new job soon enough. Congratulations to Martinelli... I hope he will be good for the economy and will be able to guide the country through the recession.
