While we're on the topic, does anyone know of any movies filmed in Panama or with scenes in Panama?

Last night I watched for the first time the Fox series " Prision Break". According to their website FOX Broadcasting Company: Prison Break last year's series was set in Panama. The one I watched last night was set there too. Guess I'd have to read the background to it but it's quite 'rugged'....

I've heard about the show Prison Break, but I never watched it. It seems like a popular show. I didn't know it was set in Panama.

The Tailor of Panama - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Tailor of Panama (2001)

Its a really good book, and a neat little film--some of which takes place in 'El Pavo Real' bar (The Peacock--Royal Turkey.)

Cheers.

There are always some on the History Int'l channel, Discovery channel, etc. Check out their websites, do a basic search for the Panama Canal, and you'll see all the shows. There are episodes of 'Modern Marvels,' 'Extreme Engineering,' 'History of Piracy, and a few about the fight for its independence, and U.S. involvement during the Noreiga regime.

Cheers.

I think netflix has the History Channel's DVDs. Of course, I think Netflix only ships to people in the United States, so it won't help if you are in Panama.

I found this on Youtube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-72PfcKOuo , you can just search Youtube and type in Panama. This is a link to a 3 part documentary on Panama called "Panama Deception". It totals 90min and really goes into detail about Noriega. It does give you a pretty good insight how some Panamanians think about folks from the US.
