How many natural disasters have there been in Panama? When did they happen?

None that I know of. Due to it's fortuitous geographical location - way south of the hurricane zone in the Caribbean - mother nature has spared Panama of her wrath, save for the rare mild to moderate earthquake. The possibility of severe seismic activity is hereby left unsaid as I knock on wood with my other hand...

Well nowadays with global warming (and even if you don't believe in that, there's no doubt some unease with mother nature) you never know. But it definitely doesn't seem like a dangerous place to live in terms of natural disasters. Plus unlike other Latin American countries, if a disaster were to hit, it would be dealt with accordingly. Although I'd always have a backup plan in case something bad did happen. Possibly save up some money for an emergency flight or something.

    How about Tsunami?
Not yet. But we are due for a major earthquake, and possibly a volcanic eruption.

That is scary! So how is the disaster management enforced?
