Panama America - Representations from the military forces of the Americas and Europe will participate in Operation Panamax 2008, that will he held along the shores of the Panama Canal in the month of August, according to a press release from the Ministry of Government and Justice. Twenty countries from throughout Latin America will participate in the exercise, and the exercise will be observed by delegations from France, Spain, Paraguay and Mexico. The press release came out after the Minister of Government and Justice Daniel Delgado Diamante attended the third coordination meeting for Panamax 2008, in which it was agreed, together with the Chief of Training for the US Southern Command John Cote, the exercises that will be conducted during the operation. Panamax 2008 is organized by the US Southern Command and consists of the practice of a series of maneuvers to protect the Panama Canal from a terrorist attack.

Representaciones de diferentes fuerzas combinadas de América y Europa participarán de la Operación PANAMAX 2008, que se realizará en las riberas del Canal de Panamá en el mes de agosto, según se anunció en un comunicado del Ministerio de Gobierno y Justicia.
El ejercicio antiterrorista contará con la participación de 20 países del continente americano y será observado por delegaciones provenientes de Francia, España, Paraguay y México.
La nota surge luego de que el ministro de Gobierno y Justicia, Daniel Delgado Diamante, asistiera a la tercera reunión de coordinación de PANAMAX 2008, en la que se acordó, junto al jefe de entrenamiento del Comando de Sur John Cote, los ejercicios a realizar en esa operación.
PANAMAX 2008 es organizado por ese comando y consiste en la práctica de una serie de maniobras para proteger el Canal de Panamá de un ataque terrorista.
