Now I have a questions for the rest of you on here now...

Does anyone here have any experience with the above forms, and which do you prefer? Also which ones have the best rates for stock trades, and what are the rates?

Also how does one transfer stocks from one brokerage firm to another from diffrent countries?... Can it be done electronically?

Also can it be done be taking the actually stock certificate of a company {lets say Ford Motor Company} and then take it to a broker in Panama even though you bought the stock in another country, and use it to fund your account with... Do the brokers in Panama do this? Any one have any experince in this?

Last question is if any of the above brokers carry any kind of insurance if they happen to go broke while you have an account with them, and what is the coverage?

Thank to all that can help...

Are expats allowed to get demat accounts in Panama? i.e can I buy equities using a Panamanian demat account? I am having a demat account in Australia. Would like to buy some equities in Panama, if it is allowed.

Broker houses in Panama dont carry insurance just like the banks. However some broker houses don't receive any of your funds most will use a clearing house like Pershing which does offer more investor protection since they are based out of the USA. Its called SIPC and it insures up to 500k if your broker house goes out of business and they have your cash on hand. However it does not protect you from money you lose because of the market and it does not protect securities that dont go through the SEC.

Broker accounts can be done there has to be a form thats filled out to do it and it takes about 2 weeks to be done. I do have experience with this and have done it (worked private banking at a local bank and am still an independent wealth manager.)

Hope my 2 cents helped some what.
