Thread: :The Hills" in Costa Verde

I recently bought a house in a project called "The Hills" just outside La Chorrera..actually in Costa Verde. Updates on their website were made in a timely manner until mid-December, ,,since then just a single picture posted showing a row of about 6-8 houses...that's all.
The project was supposed to be turning houses over to the owners in August of 2010 but I still dont think any one has relocated there yet. Phase one ..actually called "Summer Hills" ..or "Summer Place"..should have been occupied by now.
Is there anyone familiar with this project, anyone in the La Chorrera area, anyone who may have further information on the progress of "The Hills" project and especially anyone with some pictures of the completed houses?
I am also interested in corresponding with ex-pats or anybody else living in the La Chorrera/Costa Verde area to learn more about the daily life there.
Would appreciate any and all information either through these threads or by e-mail.

Let me get try to understand this: How did you purchase this home? Via a realtor that you know and who has a solid reputation? Did you have a lawyer working for you? Do you live in Panama so that you were able to visit the site and talk with others who were buying? How did you learn of this development? On internet?

I may have been mis-understood...I wasn't asking for your approval of my decisions...I was asking for anyone living in the La Chorrera area who may like to correspond with me concerning their knowledge of the project I mentioned and the type of activities in that area.

I actually drove past the place 06/11 on my way to coronado and saw a lot of construction going on. Extensive road work and clearing of jungle. Their were several streets with completed homes, other than what I could see from the road driving past I can't tell you much else.

Hello, We also bought in the Hills about a year and a half ago. We are in Phase 3 and our house is now under construction. Should be ready in 3-4 months. By now you should be in your home already. I hope you are. If you'd like to exchange ideas please contact us. We are an expat couple from the U.S. and Germany.

Are you sure we are talking about the same project? "The Hills"? in Costa Verde, La Chorrera, Panama?
We have moved into our house now...and are in the process of having the few minor repairs the construction crew didnt fix...taken care of now.
We live in Phase one...which is not completed as of this date Jan26,2012...they havent even started Phase two ..that I am aware of. Phase three...?...I doubt that will be even within the next year !!!!!

The promised "cable and internet services...dont exist and wone be available for some time yet. The "Park"
doesnt exist...and I dont see any place to put one either. The children play in the streets...and of course..in neighboring yards. Maintenance happens only if you can trap the representatives in their offices and then hound them to death ...then someone may show up ...or may not.

It sure is a nice culture to live in. In the end you will be blamed for demanding that the Panamanian have an ounce of decency is his body. Bad gringo! I hope you are making a killing avoiding taxes for living under the rule of this trash.

Sorry, I meant to say final section of Phase One. We are expecting small problems to come up that we can deal with. But, the internet is a big problem. Hope by now that's fixed for you. We expect to move in by May/June ( our expectation , not "The Hills"). Maybe the homeowners can ban together after everyone is in, to get things done.

People don't work together in Panama for the common good. You take $1 and run even if your neighbor loses $100 in the process. That's why they all block intersections, cannot merge two lanes and so on.
