What are the most famous buildings in the Panama Province?
Yeah, anyone can share it with us?
Actually I like to see the great structure, such as the bridge and the tallest building such as the twin tower or something else.
Panama's most famous building is without a doubt the Trump Tower, even though it hasn't been built yet.
Panama most famous building -still- is the Panama Viejo Old Cathedral Tower. The intriguing and unique sillouette is part of the country's history and represents what is left from the very first city on the Pacific Coast of the Americas. Pretty important uh! It doesn't matter how you look at it you know it's in Panama.
I'm also thinking on the Panama Canal Miraflores Locks building, right on the middle of the Canal between the two water chambers. That small building that bears : Miraflores Locks name is famous worldwide, it is the spot where most of the foreign dignataries stand to be photograph on their official visits to Panama .
The new/modern buildings as tall and elegant as they stand are not old enough to make an impression in our memories as much as the ones I previously mention. It is just my opinion. Thanks
Existing buildings that would be most famous:
When (if?) completed, Trump Ocean Club (tribute to Dubai's burj) will trump all others...
- Global Bank tower (Banking center icon)
- Platinum tower (Punta Paitilla glass facade)
- Miramar Intercontinental (bayfront landmark)
- National lottery Hdqs. (Calidonia's only highrise)
- Edison bldg. (El Dorado's cone-shaped cornerpiece)
- Banco Continental (Obarrio's black marble tower)
- Creditcorp's emerald tower

The Bridge of the America's is quite a site connecting North and South America. Until recently it was the only such connection that existed. I have been told by friends there is now another bridge closer to Colon that also spans over the Canal but I have never seen it (and my friend could be wrong).
If you really want to get a good look at Panama check out the Pierce Brosnan movie "The Tailor of Panama". Pretty decent comedy shot in the city a few years ago.
I was under the impression that you were a current resident of Panama City; and as such, I find it hard to believe that you're not aware of, even if you havn't seen it. That notwithstanding, your friends are right and this is the bridge that spans the canal at Gaillard cut (corte culebra).

Nice looking bridge! I don't own a car and as such don't get out of the city much except to visit Isla Grande in a rented car for a weekend or a day trip to Coronado if I can get a ride from a friend.
Famous to whom? Panamax's list sounds like the buildings that would be popular among developers, investors, and bankers. But for the more historic, touristic, picture-postcard crowd, here's my list (buildings, not bridges):And if we include future buildings, I think that the Frank Gehry-designed museum on the Causeway will certainly rival the Trump, which is, after all, a knock-off of an existing design.
- The ruins of the church tower in Panama la Vieja
- The Catedral de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción in Casco Viejo
- The ruins of the Iglesia de Santo Domingo (w/ flat arch) in Casco Viejo
- The Palacio de las Garzas in Casco Viejo
- The "gingerbread" cathedral, Iglesia del Carmen, on Via España
- The counting house in Portobello (plus the nearby forts)
- The house on Isla Taboga where Paul Gaugin lived for a short time
And for sheer size, the new Faros de Panama in Punta Pacifica will be famous because it will be the tallest building in the country, at 346 meters and 84 floors. (There were two other projects planned to be taller, but both were cancelled.)
Even without a car, it's easy to get around Panama City and it's environs on the cheap, by taxi. For a departure from your regular routine, you can also book a partial or full canal transit (Centennial bridge). For details, call Canal & Bay Tours (209-2009 or 209-2010).![]()

I'm not in a position to judge who they're famous to, nor should that be my concern. My contribution to the topic is based upon what I consider landmark structures with an inherent degree of fame. Everyone's entitled to his own opinion without disparaging those of others.

Agreed, 100%. Sorry, nothing in my post was intended to be disparaging. If you want to include only business buildings in your list, that is entirely your choice; I was simply trying to offer another perspective -- as I said, more from the angle of the typical tourist. Whenever someone starts a thread with "best" or "most" in the title (or "worst" or "least"), it will, by definition, be highly subjective -- kind of like naming Panama's best burger, or best beach, or best band, etc. etc.

Wow! Very beautiful bridge indeed. I just can imagine walking on that bridge in the evening. Thanks for sharing.
