We are new to Panama. Having retired from U.S. government as an award-winning video producer my wife and I decided Panama was the ideal location. No need for Winter clothes, no heating bills (no house heater), no wars, fast internet speeds at reasonable cost, television in English, great city life and adequate bustle (La Chorerra), and best of all, no mortgage. We paid cash for a 2700 sq ft home so my retirement money does not go towards a home I will never own. I have great neighbors and the small mom/pop stores are the real Panama deal. Having lived in Germany for most of my adult life moving to Panama is just another wonderful experience to be embraced, experienced, and enjoyed.

We look forward to reading the Forum for information to help our transition to living in this Central American culture.
