Me and my wife, Maria, are in the area of El Cristo de Aguadulce. We had a small house here for quite some time. Maria's family is from this area. We are now considering moving here, or just spending more time here.
However, we are having significant difficulty trying to deal with anything to do with the Panamian government. I shipped a pick-up truck to Panama. It arrived suprisingly fast, but it has been sitting at customs for about 2 months.
Although my wife is a Panamian citizen, and we were married in Panama over 40 years ago, the government officials gave me nothing but grief when I applied for a residency status.
My friends tell me the only answer is to get a good lawyer. Otherwise, the government officials will run me in circles indefinately.
Can anyone recommend a good lawyer? Just today, in Panama forum I was reading of someone who was defrauded for a significant amount of money by their Panamian lawyer.
I need a local lawyer (Aguadulce Area) with established contacts in Panama City. Any lawyer can pick-up a telephone book and find the name of a lawyer in Panama city. However, I need a lawyer who actually has established contacts. A lawyer who can handle all my needs. A lawyer who can, when necessary contact his associates in Panama city, and take care of my matters promptly and honestly.
At times, I feel like just forgetting about Panama and returning to my house at Bethany Beach, Delaware.
Right now, my frustration level is very high.
