    LKoebler

    Hello,
I just learned about Panama, I live in Florida, and am so excited to learn about this great country.
Is there anyone out there who has bought a piece of beach front property, then built on it recently?
What are some of the downsides of doing this? Pros...
Glad to be on this new site. I believe I will learn from everyone...thank you

well the biggest down side is the view never changes , it is flat and blue everyday , other than a boat going by . it is the same old everyday . whereas overlooking rolling hills one sees the seasons change , livestock , flowers, many trpes of birds etc . and thats is how it was explained to me by a friend with a ocean front home, as we were having a beer looking at the rolling hills in front of my house . I have never thought about it that way , but now when I am at his place I find myself watching the waves crash onto the beach , as there is really nothing else to see out there . food for thought .

Sounds like he needs a back deck. IMO, the biggest downside is that in most cases, you can't get title to the land closer than 200 meters (at least not yet).

Hi nakedguy lol I hope your not naked anywhere you could get in trouble. lol.. Just kidding. Do you live there? Is it your friends Home? And from my understanding there are lots of mountains in the background of all the pictures i have seen.
So far, it sounds great. When is the optimal time to visit?...Just asking tons of questions aren't I?

hi . yes I have been here for almost 4 years , i hate it so much i have never left to go back to visit LOl i dont really understand what you are saying about my friends house ? mine overlooks a small river and rolling hills , his overlooks the ocean . . i came from a pretty flat part of Canada so i really enjoy the hills . i have read somewhere that 70-80 % of panama is hilly . and from what i have seen it sounds about right . as far as the best time , that is a hard one , in the dry season , other than in the mountains it gets pretty brown and dead looking , where i am near pedasi by the time the rains start the feilds are ugly brown , thats after 4 months of no rain , up in boquete in the mountains it is green all year , but they get about 20 ft of rain up there every year , around pedasi , we get 4 ft , so if you want green , rainy season or boguete , if you want sun everyday for 4 months and brown fields , dry season on the coast , as far as humidty . I found for the first month i noticed it , then not much , somedays if there is no breeze and its 85-90% then yes . but where i am at there are very few days without some kind of wind
