    Hello to everybody!!! Im new to this. Im a young panamanian girl. I been thinking for awile now if I want to move to panama. I live in the U.S but I consider panama my home. The only problem is im used to the lifestyle in the U.S because I been here in for so long. Im looking for a nice apartment in the price range of 700/month also a well paying job, atleast 800-1000 monthly in the city. If anybody could help me out with some tips I would appreciate it dearly

    If you have a job now in the US and a roof over your head you should stay right where you are. Panama City is not a place for the faint of heart. Wages are low and apartments are expensive. Nice thought anyway.

    An apartment at 700 and wages between 800-1000 doesn't leave much to live on. I think pollerkeeper has a point.

    An office in Panama that hires English speakers for the logistics industry just had 4 people quit. Their monthly salaries went from:

    $900 --> $1500
    $900 --> $1900
    $1050 --> $1400
    $2350 --> $3400

    Inflation is completely out of control in Panama, but salaries seem to be going up quite a bit. Unemployment is at historic lows. If you have very good organization skills (something people here lack) and extreme attention to detail, put in the extra hours needed and speak impeccable English $2000 should be feasible without much problem.

    Based on your text above you should stay in the US a bit longer and iron out your language problems first though, but you could always take a chance.

    I agree with Ed. Opportunity's may be better in Panama than in most places in the US. Moving here and getting started would be expensive. If this person had family to move in with to help her get started it could be a good move. We are feeling terrible inflation here and it will only get worse. But, the economy here is booming compared to the US where there are no jobs or opportunity's available to young people.

    I have alot of family in panama, but I dont want to live in nobodys house. Im a type of person that like to get things on my own. I dont ask nobody for help no matter how bad my situation is. I speak,read and write both english and spanish very well. I think that can get me very far in panama. Also when I said im looking for an apartment in the 700 range, its because my cousin will be living with me. Shes a supervisor at Tocumen airport so her income will be enough to go half on everything....

    Tocumen and the city are pretty far apart. For $700 you probably will be staying closer to the airport.

    Like others have said, you should practice english before you say you write it very well.

    I do not mind helping you even though you don't ask for nobody for help.

    Nothing personal but I agree with adamruns. Your English is very rudimentary at best. You will need to change your attitude once you move to Panama. The reason Panamanians can survive here is because they help each other. It is not like in the US where everyone keeps to themselves. You need to be able to rely on friends and family here. And, they will ask you for help also.

    Get in touch with Panamanian family and friends and try to figure out through them if you have a chance of finding a job, maybe they have friends that can get you a job. I found my OK paid job through a Panamanian friend. Only speaking impeccable English is not enough.
