I am interested in meeting divers/shell dealers in Panama

Hello, In in Portland Oregon and have wanted to visit Panama for years. I have medical conditions and wonder about the quality of health care there. Im a seashell collector and would like to have friends/contacts who collect in Panama, or are dealers or divers who find shells for dealers. Panama looks like a beautiful place to live.

Most believe the medical care is as good or better than the U.S. in most areas and for most medical conditions. The well regarded Johns Hopkins institution has a medical center in Panama City, as do other fine medical institutions from the U.S. Certainly, from a side-by-side comparision of costs, Panama is quite a bit less expensive. Whether it is wise for you to possibly forfeit medical insurance and government benefits you have in the U.S. to be treated in Panama depends on your situation, which I hope is "routine." It would not be wise to relocate to Panama IMO if you have a rare condition, have excellent treatment presently available to you, and are fearful your condition may prevent you from being employed (assuming financial needs are such). There are no safety nets in Panama in terms of financial support or medical research you might have to rely on.

    This is only my opinion.
