Thread: Short intro

Hi everyone, I've been reading this forum for a few months and I thought it was time to say hello. I'm looking into coming to Panama (El Valle area) for a visit and to see if I like it there enough to spend the winter there. I've looked at other areas but I think the climate and the proximety to PC is the best for me. I spent a month in David back in the early 80's but all I can remember is that it was very hot. I looked at Volcan but I think it is too close to the CR border. Anyway, I've really enjoyed the forum and have found some very useful info here. Who knows, maybe I'll retire in Panama. Can you elaborate more on that apart from the perspective of a map reader?

Nothing disturbs me, just too many people coming through that are not locals. If I wanted that, I would go to Florida!

Not sure I am following, Florida does not border any countries....

I can guarantee you that the closer to the border you get the more locals you have. It's illegal for foreigners to buy within a certain distance from the border.
