    Yet another new member

My wife and I are from Norway. My wife is reumatic, so when the kids 'left the building' we ran away to Florida. Better quality of life for her, and for me :-) She is on a medical pension/retirement, while I still work in Norway, 2 weeks at work, 4 weeks off.
The life in Florida has been good for both of us, but the way the Homeland Security is treating arrivals pisses me off, and together with the new visa policy we decided to leave the US for a more retire friendly country.
We're coming down to Panama in early June, expecting some rain, but hot and humid, which is good for us. Probably traveling via Venezuela, because you never know if the HS guys will let you transit, depending on their mood. I'm currently on ESTA, but still the guy let me in on my US Offshore Visa, according to regualtions, not legal. And he gave me a 6 mnt stay instead of the usual 3 mnts.....
Anyway, still reading the info on this forum, and still learning a lot :-)

    Hey Noway! Welcome!

I totally understand your comments on Home land Security. Im Dutch and since I've been traveling back and forth between The Netherlands an Panama I've been trying to avoid stopovers in the USA, especially since we now need de ESTA visa..

In my experience, Miami is a complete beat-down coming in. Houston (Continetal Airlines) seemed much better, but not a lot of experience to completely rate.

Welcome noway!! I fly Copa out of Orlando straight to Panama. I flew Spirit air out of Ft. Lauderdale but the TSA are really nasty there. I find Orlando has less TSA hassel and COPA has great service, kinda like all airlines used to be.

Agreed. Unfortunately, American Airlines really cut back their direct flights about a year or so ago to just one a week.
