    Hi,

I'm from sunny London originally. Loving the change of city after all my 31 years being in the 'big smoke'.

    How about you?

Re: A New Life in Panama

How is life and work going in Panama? I too am a new transplant her. The weather is much better than the winter in the U.S.
We have started a new business also. Let me know if you have any great insights on starting a business here and I will do the same if you would like.
    Best of Luck.

Be sure and stop in London Pub on Calle Uruguay for a pint or two. It's Panama City's idea of an English pub. I doubt you'll confuse it for one in London, but if it's not what you want walk on over to Hooter's!

I tried to convince the owner of The London Pub to carry absinthe.

A cold beer is always good. I will get back to you as to a date.

What are you doing here? Are you working for someone or for yourself?
How is the business going? Any great wisdom to pass along?
    Thanks

What kind of work did you get? I would be there next week if I could find even minimal, reliable employment

Re: A New Life in Panama

I have opened a Kennel in Albrook. This was a service we saw as needed in the city and we had experience in opening businesses in the states. I think finding work is very difficult for foriengers here. Most expats I know here work for themselves..which is very acceptable.
I would recommend if you are looking for work ...have it established before you arrive. It may take a couple of trips here to find and land the right job. I have found it is very difficult to get things done over the phone or web. You really have to be here to get things done.
    Best of luck!

Rico, if your business is the Albrook Kennel & Boarding, I like your website. Your six dogs are cute, especially the German Short-haired Pointer looking dog. So far has your boarding business been Panamanians, or ex-pats who board while they return state-side to visit family?
