My fiance and I are some typical northerners just fed up with cold north, escalating or should I say skyrocketing health costs(we're both self-employed). I visit here to read first hand opinions and facts to help us guide our way. We are visiting PC for the first time coming up at the end of Feb. for a little better than a week. So, because we haven't experienced anything firsthand in Panama to date I will be reviewing input from others.
We are not city dwellers and don't think we want to be but we'll start in PC due to limited time available then if we like we'll be returning in the summer for 3 weeks to explore the western side, David, Boquete and Bocas del toro areas.
Although daunting, selling all or most everything and starting fresh in a new country we don't think it should be viewed as a "pipe dream" but more of an optimistic option.
Therefore, it's in our 5 year plan, putting us at 50 years of age. Visit a few times in a few different areas a few different times of the year and decide whether a short term living arrangement should be considered before the final push.
So hello to all and thank for all your posts and input!
