    Exploring possibilities

I am new here. My husband and I live in Texas, and we are planning a summer trip to Panama. We'd like to combine dental work with our search for a nice laid back (but active) place to retire. After viewing a few of your forum posts, I was impressed by the general helpfulness and civility of your forum. I am looking forward to learning more about Panama and participating in this cool on-line community. We are thinking that we'd like to visit the Pedasi area, but we're open to staying in other areas as well. We'd appreciate any recommendations for well trained dentists (within 30 or 40 min. travel) as well as recommendations for reasonable rentals for a 1 bedroom (less than $60/day for a 2 week stay).

    Thanks!

What's with all these Texans! (We're from DFW area). We're future owners of a development on the Caribbean called Bala Beach Resort. It's a series of mid-rise buildings with plenty of planned amenities at an affordable price, IMO. I'm not familar with rental rates, but expect many resources are available to you. Regarding practicing denistry in Panama, if you have not done so please seek legal advise on the process. As a rule (there are always exceptiions), Panama is quite welcoming of retirees and second-homers, but not so accommodating to allowing retirees to work in Panama.

Welcome, Pedasi is a nice area to check out, good for touristy things to do. Helps to have your own vehicle to get around while you are down there. Not many stores and not much in regards to medical help. From what I have seen this dentist office is probably one of the best ones on the Azuero Peninsula: http://www.panamaforum.com/living-pa...e-dentist.html (My Chitre Dentist)
