First of all what I am about to relate, do not see as a negative, as carnival is a geat deal of fun and something to experience. That being said, accomadations will no doubt be more exspensive and not as readily available. Traffic will be increased. The trip from the city into and returning from Las Tablas is congested with traffic. During that trip they have several DUI check points set up, so there will be waits and checks. If you will be to your destination prior to the start of and do not have to drive, so much the better. If you are coming to check out the "area" , then maybe you wouldnt want to do it during carnival. Unless of course you have enough time to be there before and/or after and you can experience it all.
