Hello to everyone out there in the Panama Forum community. I have loved reading the various threads and postings from all members interested in all things Panama. I was stationed in Panama during the 70's at Howard AFB and loved the place so much I extended my assignment to 2 years. After getting out of the Air Force in Panama, me and three others rode motorcycles back to the US via the Inter-American Highway. The time I spent in Panama was the most exciting and adventurous of my life. Back then Panama was not as crowded and it seemed like the jungle was right outside your front door. Some of the best time were spent at a place we called goofy falls. It was past Tocumen Airport and an old guy with a shotgun would guard your cars while we went swimming in the waterfall and the waterhole surrounding it. We called it goofy falls because wild mushrooms would grow all around the falls during the rainy season. After work we would live at the Ancon Inn and surrounding bars. What a place. A great time was had by all!
