    Hola

New member aboard... just got back from Dubai, and can I say boy was I not impressed! I think Panama City more than prepared me for the UAE. The two cities are similar but Panama night life is extremely better than boring old Dubai

I see many problems in Dubai's future. Panama is a much more established biz/offshore banking center that does not rely just on luxury condos (although we have our fair share). Since you have been there, how do you feel about the comfort level with Dubai's culture? How much time did you spend in Dubai? It would be very interesting to get the perspective of somebody that has been there since the comparison between the two places has been mentioned previously.

Dubai Night Life- It totally sucked. Clubs closed at around 1-2am in the mourning there (Commonwealth of Virginia style).

To me personally Dubai is like a slave city. They have alot of men from India working there butts off for pocket change to build these massive buildings downtown. Also because of this, the man to woman ratio sucked! For every woman there were 10 guys. Five of those 10 would be Indian, 4 would be Arab, and 1 would be the US tourist or foreigner trying to make a living in Dubai.

The only thing Dubai had going for it self was the gold souk. I brought a 22k 23.30gr cuban link chain and a 1/2 carat diamond earring. I wouldn't be surprised if Panama got its own gold souk in a few years lol. As far as the tallest building in the world goes, it looked pretty lonley standing there all but itself. It was a nice building but not like the media was hyping it up to be. (refer to the pic I took below). Also Donald Trump sail boat tower in Panama looks like it will be a bit bigger than the sail boat in Dubai. (not sure I maybe wrong, but thats what it looked like)
