I am actually considering buying a house or two around chitre, but dont know much about the place or how safe it is. what the best areas are etc. but i have been thinking since the last time i was in panama city that i was a bit lost for something to do other than drink and gamble and only have prostitutes to look at. The panamanian friends i have there work, and work hard and long hours, so i only got to see them at the weekend. it made me think what i would generally do with my time. It suddenly occurred to me to move outside the city and maybe buy a house or two to fix up. it would give me time to learn spanish and also give me something else to put my hand to. Panama city is only 3 hours on the bus, if i wanted a big night out, and really, i am just looking for a bit of a different lifestyle. chitre in terms of infrastructure and price seems to fit the bill. so any info about the areas in chitre etc would be most welcome.

hi, Is there a messaging service of some sort through panama forum? I seemed to get a pop up message from someone but could not answer it? I use Mozilla Firefox.

Also, just to let you know. got a letter from HSBC and they appear to have set up my HSBC account from the UK. Presumably other countries with HSBC may have this facility. I will let anyone know if any problems arise. I always get nervous when things seem to go smoothly! ;-)
