Smile Anyone Use Concierge Services like "International Living"?

I'm happy to have stumbled across this forum, since I've been considering to relocate to Panama for a long time.

Most of my knowledge of Panama's Benefits has come by way of numerous emails from the international living website.

After more research and more independent praise about the benefits of Panama from others I trust, I've tried to expand my search for service providers.

I was considering visiting thru one of IL's Seminars in Panama. I dont' know what people think of this organization, the few reports I have got of them, seems to indicate they are sort of the hard sell types, and are always trying to upsell you on more and more. But that may just be one person's view, I'd really like to know if anyone has used any of the following sites, and how would they rate or comment on their usefulness and integrity.

Living and Retiring in Panama eBook-Information about Panama-Panama Canal

(this site offers a free e-book but i'm afraid to open it, because the download is .exe file and not .pdf) Has anyone successfully downloaded it? I'm just a bit paranoid about viruses/worms getting into my computers.

Living Abroad : Articles : Panama

Well thanks in advance, I plan on visiting this summer to do a sort of scouting trip but in the mean time I'd like to learn as much as possible about Panama in order to make the most of my trip.

Actually another thing I just thought of was useful books, reports or Ebooks. Any that are must haves or any that I shouldn't even waste my money on? Your thoughts all greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My personal recommendation is to use the forum and just start using search engines (Yahoo, Google, etc) and start reading. Then come on down and explore, meet with locals, real estate agents, attorneys, and do your homework. You will feel allot better about the move than if somebody just sells you a package of what they want you to see.

one pretty good book is "LIving and Investing in Panama" by Christopher Howard. You can get it at Live, Retire or Invest in Panama

Living and Investing in Panama

My wife just gave me this book and I'm digging into it. Very good details except that it seems that the latest references are dated 2004 so the prices referred to are probably a bit out of date. The rest of the travel and location information is VERY useful. I think. Have to confirm that in person I guess

Hi All,

My name is Derek and I am just launching a new consulting company focused on helping individuals make the transition from North to Central America.

At this point I am hoping to spread the word about my organization and perhaps even take on a few clients at a discounted rate in return for some post-project testimonials, etc.

Please feel free to visit my site and provide any comments and or suggestions as necessary.

Intrevest | Make Your International Real Estate Investment a Success!

Thanks!

Derek
