    English language bookstores

Looking for anyplace to buy books/magazines in English, in either Volcan or David. Imagine Boquete might have one also. Thanks.

The only one I know is The Book Mark in Dolega. It's on the left side of the road as you come up the hill. Daly's in Volcan has a few books, but I think they are loaners. The store in Dolega is large, and full of books. The man who owned it, named Hal, died a coupled of months ago, but it still ran by his friend Michael.

    Re: English language bookstores

There is a group of US and Canadian citizens that have an informal book exchange at the restaurant/bar next to the Amador. They used to meet late in the afternoon once a week but I don't remember what day. There is often someone around there as a few people live on their boats at the marina next to the bar.
The last time I was there I ran out of reading material and bought a kindle when I returned home. I thought I would learn to use it so I wouldn't run out of reading materials when I traveled. That was over a year ago and I haven't bought a physical book since. There are a couple websites that track free books released on Amazon and now I have over 400 unread books on my kindle. I never even considered that it would save me money but it has. All the kindles are wifi now and that will work anywhere in the world. I think the kindle is great for traveling, for places where English books are difficult to find, and actually just for reading anywhere.
