    GPS Navigation?

Are there GPS Nav maps/devices that work good in Panama?

Only garmin works. About $120-200 at multimax inclusing maps.

There is one other company that makes maps for panama they posted here once but i dont remember the name. They only made maps.

    Re: GPS Navigation?

We have the Garmin and it's reasonably accurate. Unfortunately Panama has a way of changing the direction of streets. We've had several near accidents following the GPS at top speed down one way streets. It's more of an adviser than a sure thing!!

Lol I guess it pays to keep your eyes on the signs. Do these Garmins have the Panama map preloaded in them?
The ones they sell on Amazon have USA and Canada on them and if you want Panama you got to buy a chip for $185.
    Thanks.

You have to buy a chip for the Garmins too. I think it was about $125.

Cost of the Panama Map: $49.- (Panama Street Map-Full (Garmin) )

For the size of this map, most Garmin GPS will NOT need a memory card. It can be intalled on the internal memory. Check yours.

    Re: GPS Navigation?

Not sure how it compares to the GPS navigation systems here because I haven't tried them before, but my phone GPS (Google Maps) works pretty well. The only downside is that most of the shops aren't listed on the map (difficult to update I suppose), and some of the street names are different, like Transistmica and Tuma Muerto.

NAVEGADOR GPS GARMIN NUVI205 $140 complete and probably easier with warranty.

I do not think this includes the Panama map. Also, I would not expect much from a Panafoto warranty. Just my opinion.

I know the ones at Multimax come loaded with the Panama map, I am not sure about the ones at Panafoto. I agree with you, Multimax is a lot better handling warranty issues.
