Here you can find the cables sent from the US Embassy in Panama. What emerges is a disturbing portrait of a deeply dishonest elite in all three branches of government presided over by a paranoid President with a penchant for bullying and blackmail. This is not the Panama that is promoted by International Living.

A country where narco- traffickers sit on the boards of Panamanian banks and major construction companies. A country where one cash smuggling operation alone moved an estimated $30 million a month through Tocumen airport whilst corrupt offficials tipped off gangs to rob passengers who declared that they were legitimately carrying large amounts of cash. A country where the Tourism Minister is linked to narco- traffickers and a Minister of Government and Justice scams foreigners in real estate transactions.

Unfortunately, it could be applied to many governments and sadly Panama's isn't the worst offender. Not sure that Obama is paranoid though.

When the news about the classified documents being stolen was first released I viewed it as an act of espionage, now I think it is casting sunlight on the dirty dealings of govts around the world. I am waiting for the release of the cable that suggests how long Chavez has before he succumbs to his cancer.

and thats why i think he is trying to get his gold back , one more shot at the goverments he hates . and it is going to be a good show if they can not return it to him , that will crash lots of faith in the system . i am not sure how much the bank of nova scotia has but morgan and the bank of england are chitting their pants i bet . i dont like Chavez but glad he did it . the only other thing he has ever done that i liked was kicking monsanto out of the country .

Maybe you said it to yourself or thought about it, but you never wrote it and you never discussed it. There is nothing the US has to do before Panama tries to fix the functionality of basic necessities. The cables are not attempts to police the world.

He has to have a good reason to want the gold back in Venezuela for if he ever wants to sell it at market price it needs to be in London, New York, Switzerland etc. Unfortunately, the cables wont be enlightening us on his cancer prognosis unless the USA makes another security blunder, which is always possible.

with him wanting it at home at least he knows he owns it , but i would guess the holding banks have sold EMFs on it about 30 to 1 , so it will be funny to see them come up with the gold , it is either 144 tons or 265 tons . he is also getting out of USD , maybe he is smarter than some give him credit for . god knows I would like to be able to get out of USD before Ben finishes driving it into the ditch .
