I like the low population and the natural beauty of the country. Someone who likes to fish, snorkel, scuba etc.. Panama offers allot. There is less regulation and more personal freedom.
Thank you for bringing a bit of positivity into the mix! It's very true that there are many frustrations in Panama, especially in the areas of doing business or being productive personally or professionally. Despite all the stresses and challenges, if you are able to tune in and go with the flow you will find many things to appreciate here.
- Traffic is a problem in the city, but Panama offers one of the best infrastructures in Latin America and there is an all-encompassing effort underway to develop public transportation including brand new public buses rapidly infiltrating the streets and a metro/subway system scheduled to open in 2 years.
- The indigenous food is kind of bland, but food is highly affordable and even nice restaurants cost a fraction of what they do in North America and Europe.
- Service in any establishment is usually lacking if not outright rude, but there are an amazing amount of students in colleges and universities studying tourism and service industries in an effort to welcome international tourism and business in a way never before experienced in Panama.
The bottom line is that it's not WHERE you are, it's WHO you are. If you are negative, you will seek out and attract negativity. If you are positive, you will discover and create positivity. I choose to surround myself with positivity and productivity and in this raw and unique environment we have the potential to create clusters of like-minded individuals that create successful and enjoyable environments that can set an example and lead the way for others to join in and pursue themselves.

Women
Low (or no) taxes
Weather
you also have to be pissed and refuse to take no for an answer, which may appear as negative to some. if you surround yourself with people who are positive about complete shit of course you are on the wrong track and just lying to yourself. surround yourself with doers who break down barriers and run like a dump truck over the non-doers.
here is my list
the offshore corporation with a $300 flat tax per year.
the pensionado program.
hub location.
About time! I could endlessly b#tch about the best place too. Maybe this could be a lesson for those who make their own problems out of nothing more than circumstances.
I love all the green spaces and the abundant wildlife. We live in Albrook and our backyard has monkeys, squirrels, nickies, cotamundies, opossums and tons of birds, Oh I forgot to mention the sloths!
Albrook is still beautiful - smile. Another thing I love about Panama are fabulous shopping malls and incredible restaurants - yum!
Warm weather
Beautiful country side
Not so expensive
Simpler life
Ocean
Some challenges with the language
To counter the trash complaint on this threads counterpart I shall throw my approval toward the freedom to throw trash on the ground without fear of hardcore ramification...Weather you like trash on the ground or not you have the ability to decide, free of fear, whether you want to be a douche bag and litter or chose not to...That is FREEDOM not the kinda of "strong armed freedom" imposed in the states
I've been to Panama several times in the past and soon will be coming down for another visit with a view to permanently living there. My daughter lives in Chitre and I fondly remember the great weather, low economic costs and the friendliness of the natives. buzz.![]()

"Few cities in Latin America can match the diversity, cosmopolitanism and sheer energy of Panama City..." - THE ROUGH GUIDE
sophisticated urban populace is the most stupid comment i have heard about panama. more like farmers that have been let lose to do things they have no clue about.
cosmopolitan is also completely out of range. the only thing that makes panama great is the lack of government and interaction with the locals on a business level. they truly are a uniquely incompetent, ignorant, uneducated and set in their stupid ways.
gorgeous babes? panamanian women must be the ugliest in the world. most of them look like the offspring from general noriegas rape victims. they are also lazy and low on energy and lack logic.

The visual impact of PC's skyline is certainly heightened when another PH goes up 20 ' in front of your balcony, it hits you like a brick wall. I think that tellucy has covered the sophisticated urban populace adequately.
and panamax must be the twin sister of all foreign real estate agents working illegally in panama since obviously panamax has never done any business in panama. just a lot of talk - the typical pie hole of a real estate pusher with no basis in reality but their own personal thoughts of personal profits. is it cosmopolitan to supply 200 pages and have 6 meetings to open a bank account? would a sophisticated population refuse to change an AC adapter for a 200,000 dollar apartment for 4 months?
The vitriolic rants my perspective would evoke from this lynchmob is nothing less than hilarious. Consequently, I can't resist the temptation to offer-up the following red meat and have a few heads explode: Panama is the greatest country on the face of the earth!

and the TOC guys just sit there and say, you da chump . but if you look from ground level to about 20 ft up, the whole city looks like a chit hole , but from 20 ft and up it looks not bad , but dont look up to long or you will find that manhole cover that was stolen and sold for scrap .
You mean the lack of that manhole cover right?

I have to say that Miss Panama Sheldry Saez's, national costume in the Setember 12th Miss Universe competition has to be one of the best, if not the best.
