Sadly, I am writing requesting assistance from local residents. Last
Wednesday, Mary Strociek (WHY PANAMA) wife of Matt who lives along the El Valle road
suffered a serious stroke. She is still presently in hospital in Panama
City;we are hoping she will be allowed home next week to convalesce.
Mary will unfortunately need many months of physiotherapy and she
desperately needs a hospital bed and wheelchair for use at home. If you
have either of these that you can kindly lend, donate or wish to sell
your help would be deeply appreciated.
Please contact Lesley on 6980 6848 or Monique on 6480 0226
I am so sorry to hear about Mary. Although I have never met her, I've enjoyed her postings here, on her whypanama website, and I believe I've seen her comments on IL. She is a valued member of this community and I hope to look her and her husband up the next time I'm in the El Valle area. Good luck Mary and get well soon. A fan.
Wow. I never knew Mary's last name so I really didn't pay much attention to the post when I first saw it. I have been corresponding with Mary for a few years now and she has always given me absolutely reliable info about all things Panama related. Just a couple of weeks ago she had posted she wanted people to donate blood on her behalf for a pending medical procedure.
I just copied this from Mary's website: "Many of you may not be aware that Mary had a stroke on August 11, 2011. She is currently incapacitated and unable to move her right side as well as has lost most of her ability to speak."
