I`ve been job hunting in Panama but no luck. Any tips???
What's your skills and experiences?
I work on a Navy Base now for the Customer Service Agency in the Commissary. I also work in the cash cage counting all the money that enters the store. As a night job, I work at a bar as a juice bar cashier. So I would say I have alot of experience dealing with people. I speak both english & spanish but speak more english...
Work permit?
Here are a few pointers:
1. Your English is your biggest selling point.
2. They cannot legally hire you for less than $1,000 per month so skip the other jobs.
3. If the company currently has 3 or more Panamanian employees and no foreigners you quality under (not 100 % sure about the name) the 10 % Marrakech visa option. You might want to discuss this up front and mention you would be happy to take care of and pay for the legal fees.
Since you mainly spend your time counting other people's money I would recommend:
1. Casino, specifically dealing with English speaking high rollers.
2. Call center management or operation.
3. Handle the "juice operations" for English speaking clients at one of the larger local whore houses.
Also worth keeping in mind, if you have $1,000 in your hand, you can always drop $300 and someone else could pick it up.
I should note that the 10 % Marrakech visa is an obvious and exploited loop hole for people wanting to avoid investing 160,000 dollars and hire 5 Panamanians. You can start a business in Panama, hire 3 workers, then hire yourself by having your nominee director give POA to your attorney to get this done.
So that might be an option for you as well. Just find 3 maids and start an English managed cleaning service, then hire yourself.
