    What are those- blue crabs?

I was driving along the Pan-American from El Valle back to PC. I saw folks selling bunches of crabs hung on poles along the highway. What are those? They look like blue crabs with red claws, but look very different from what we see in supermarkets.
Happy if someone can enlighten curious me. Thanks.

there are lots on the beaches here near pedasi , I had no idea you could eat them , they are small compared to to north american standards , but the locals eat anything that moves so it is no real surprise , for example a friend had a small dugout on his project , it had a small camen living in it until one day when all he found was the head and feet , someone ate the rest . I have seen them pick up dead birds they have hit driving down the hiway , if it moves , they eat it

I see, they are land crabs. That is why the head is smooth, not spikey like the sea version. The lady was asking $12 for a bunch.
