Hello all, we are settled in Penonome now and would be glad to offer an English Bible study if anyone in the area would be interested. At our house or yours.

Where in Penonome did you end up? My wife is from Anton, and Penonome is on the short list of places we are considering when we move back to Panama.

We are in Paseo del Rio, a new division not far from the Machetazo. A lot are still in construction, we just happened to find one for rent.

Well, judging from the private message I received from EdBowers, I am guessing he is NOT interested in an English Bible study. Thank you for your response, EdBowers. For the rest of you, and even Eddie-boy if he changes his mind, our offer still stands.

this is a honest question , why do people of all faiths feel they need to push their thoughts on others .? from the single person to complete countries . I am a nudist , but i am not pushing for everyone to come to my house so I can convert them , another example , what if a gay person posted that if people will come to their house they will have gay studies with them and try to convert them ? so dont take this a personal shot at you alone , it is for all that push their thought on others . most people with a IQ over 50 can think for themselves , if they need a new TV , they go to the store and buy one , why does anyone think you need to direct these people in which faith they follow ?

i think PanamaL is far from being pushy. He is just informing us about what he's doing and offering to anybody that is interested. I am an atheist myself but i know there are many people interested in religion and biblestudy etc. Nothing wrong with that. Just as he wont tell you to go put on some clothes why do you have a problem with what he is doing? You want your freedom then let the man be free to do and offer whatever he pleases!

and dont mind eddie ofc he has too much time on his hand and too little love in his life.

Good question, nakedguy. I don't like ideas being pushed on me either. I honestly don't feel I am pushing anything on anyone by offering a Bible study in English. Isn't this forum for expats/English speakers? My personal experience has been there are not a lot of English religious services available in Panama, and especially for newcomers, they might enjoy worshipping in their native tongue. What thoughts am I pushing on people by offering that service?

i did not say you personally , the whole group of bible thumpers is what i am saying . can you not follow your faith without others ? do you need help praying ? can you not read your bible to yourself ? why do you need a group .? in the things i believe in , i do not need a support group to help me , janl is not asking for all the atheists to come to his house . . hundreds of thousands have died because of the bible , if everyone and every country would stop pushing their god on everyone else , the world would be a more peaceful place .

lol not true i invite atheists all the time but religious are welcome too long as theyre female young and cute :P

but seriously thats a different discussion. i dont think people have died cause of the bible koran or torah or whichever book. i think ppl die because of abuse of those books for gain of power and/or money. i dont think those books tell muslims to fly into twin towers or tell american politicians to kill innocents around the world.

well you see things your way and the world sees them the other . how can you sit there and say that religion has not killed people ? i am not even going to discuss this with you if you are that disinformed about history .

well maybe the world sees it wrong then .. i had the impression people kill people. religion is just used as an excuse in my opinion.

lol guns are just dangerous tools but if u put one in an empty house it will never go off. thats why all guns should be in empty houses :P

During the years 1917-1989 far more people were murdered by the atheist Communists than all the murders committed in the name of a religion. The atheists had plenty of guns and the desire to use them against their fellow men. I would bet that Janl never blamed them for anything or demanded that they give up their guns, since they are on the same team.

Well we had already established that you dont know a thing about me, as about many other things. You confirm it again.

There is no such thing as killing for no religion. If you have no religion and you kill, you kill for another reason, not because you didn't have a religious reason in the first place.

Intelligent life on Earth is strongly anti-correlated with religion. A simple map study shows that religious beliefs have nothing to do with personal convictions that result from reason. A 10-year old should be able to understand that. Still billions of idiots waste their time every day speaking to ghosts - the retardation of mankind never ceases to amaze me.
