soon relocating to Boquete area. Info please

    Hello everyone

My husband is seriuosly considering to accept a job in Boquete, and for us to relocate in that area. I have been doing some researches on the web about the area of Panama but haven't found all the answers so I'll try my luck with this forum.

We are family with 2 small children, that soon should start school. How are the schools in that area? Bilingual, internetional? The first language of my kids is English.
    How are the hospitals? Pediatricians?

Both me and my husband have a good knowledge of the Spanish.

And what is there to do in Boquete? Looks quite rural to me....

    Any info will be helpful.

    Thanks

    Welcome!

Right now, there is no hospital in Boquete. There is a Doctor and a clinic. The closest hospital is in David.

You can birdwatch, hike, swim, ride bikes, all those fun things that kids love to do. We have ballet, orchestra, classical piano concerts every now and then, and plays, and other stuff to do. We have internet and TV, and all you can eat BBQ. Or read a good book while the humming birds dive bomb each other for the feeder.

Can't help with the schools though.

last year was an unusual one for rain...In December and January there were records set for rain just about everywhere in Panama, the canal was closed due to flooding for the first time in decades, and in El Valle we had non stop heavy rain for almost a full month...blame la nina...this year things seem to me returning to normal and in Boquete we have been getting occasional light afternoon showers, and only 1 thunderstorm in the last month.

I know quite a few people here that have young children, so the schools must be acceptable. I can put you in touch with some of them if you like. We have a cute little Social Security hospital here in Boquete, across from the Fire department. There are lots of clinics here and doctors as well. If you need a place to stay, I know of lots of good places. E-mail me if you need some help in Boquete panamajames@gmail.com and call me at 6909-9283 once you arrive and get a phone. You can visit a good website www.panama-boquete.com Thanks. Jim
