Finding an english teaching job in Panama

Hi guys, i've just landed in Panama city a little less than a week ago and am just starting to get my bearings in order.

My girlfriend will be joining me here in about a month, she is currently finishing her TESOL (teaching english as second language) course and i was wondering if the job opportunities in that department are plentiful?

Does she need to apply for a work visa prior to arriving here or does she need to be personally invited by a school/company in order to be legally allowed to work here?

Or can she just come here directly and start looking for work?

    Thanks

She is going to need a work visa. I would also contact the private schools in PC to see if they are interested and can help. I had a friend come down here and teach at a private school for 2 years. She didn't have a problem, but then she was married to a Panamanian.

Panama really protects their people with jobs. You just can't come down here and expect to work legally.

Try Berlitz Cursos de inglés en Panamá| Cursos de Idiomas Berlitz| Cursos de Inglés

A Mexican co-student of mine doesn't have a work permit either but does has some teaching diplomas and is teaching english and spanish at Berlitz...

I had a friend here and his wife was working at a private school illegally but still somehow managed to get Panamanian Social Security?? She was making $1300 a month. The school was Coleigio Real close to El Dorado.
